Its fairly negligible. Silent Legion is unique in that its the only armor that provides two heat resist per piece. WebI find star metal serves its purpose then becomes kinda uselss. I rarely use it for armors mostly hardened steel. The only armor I use star metal for is the silent Legion redeemed chest plate. As for DLCs the only one worth getting in my opinion is isles of siptah. It's the only dlc that adds more to the game then just cosmetics.
